My
name is Andri Setiawan, i’m 21 years old. My hobbie is playing drum. I love playing drum because i’m
enjoying it. I have a metal band, i think metal genre is so challenging. My
band name is Plainfield Cemetery, and the member of the band is friends of senior
high school. I was playing a drum since elementary school. First time I playing
drum is when I visited my friend. I started playing drum because I admire Eca
Soemantri. Eca Soemantri is drummer in orchestra from Indonesia, he have a
great skill and have unique style in drumming.
Beside
Eca Soemantri, I have my favorite drummer from Peoria, Arizona, his name Luke
Holland, he’s a famous drummer in youtube, because have a great skill and have
acrobatic style in drumming. Luke Holland has been sponsored by DW Drums, Meinl
Cymbals, Vater Percussion and Evans Drumheads. More songs that he cover, more
fame he will get on youtube. Since then, I explore and find out about the
technique of playing the drums. I have a metal band and already has 5 songs, I
started to play from one stage to another stage since elementary school, until
I got deeper and I love this hobby.
My
metal band has been formed for 2 years. From this hobby, I also teach a kid to
play a drum, because my band mates introduced me to his neighborhood, that kid
has an interest in music, especially playing the drums. Then, in high school
where I go to school I was also fill spare time transform and share knowledge
by my juniors in high school who have an interest in playing the drums. I am
proud of my hobby, because of my hobby I can share knowledge to the crowd and
be a lot of notes by my friends who have a hobby of music.
I
studied economics management at Gunadarma University. Here, I meet more people
who have an interest in music, I am so happy because, i can learn more from
them that I can be in music, especially playing the drums. I 4ea18 class, I
like to practice music with my classmates, Adlan and eggy. From here I also
getting more interested in music, especially drums, because the more the genre
of music that I could play. I don’t make a band with Adlan and eggy, because
they already have a band and I already have a band too. I like to have practice
with eggy and Adlan because we have a same hobby, while refresh the brain with
assignments then from there I like to practice with eggy and Adlan. We getting
practice together and playing some song from many band, like The Beatles,
Radiohead, R.E.M and many more. Maybe that’s a different genre from my own metal band, but
me and my friends, eggy and adlan have a same music interest. I usually
practice with my metal band, Plainfield Cemetery, on Saturday night or Sunday
night at Apache’s Studio, East Bekasi. With this hobby, i get so many friends
beside getting many friends i can earn some money.
I
have another hobby besides playing drum and music. I love skateboarding.
Skateboarding is a extreme hobby because so many risk, so dangerous and so
challenging. Just like my hobby, playing drum, i get so many friends too.
I
usually skateboarding after i practice with my metal band on Saturday night. I
have a favourite skater from San Diego, California, his name is Toni Hawk. I
often watch his video on youtube. I also watch some skateboarding tutorial
video.
